Registration Process

We hope to make the process as easy as as possible for all of our participants. Please never hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions a long the way.

Registration opens Friday, March 31st, 2017. It is our hope that you are able to take care of registration early so you are able to enjoy all of the excitement of your senior year with this checked off your list. Please watch the instructional video on our website prior to completing the registration form.

Helpful tips for preparing for Sorority Recruitment:

  • Review all online materials. 
  • Check the email you provided during registration for additional information about the process. 
  • Follow Texas Tech Panhellenic on social media to receive updates throughout the summer.
  • Research Local Area Alumnae Panhellenic groups that provide information sessions about sorority recruitment.
  • Determine if you want to seek out Recommendations/Reference Letters for the sororities on our campus.

Texas Tech Panhellenic will not be collecting/accepting any pictures, transcripts or SAT/ACT scores as we have in years past. There is no need to mail any hard copies of any kind to Texas Tech Panhellenic. 

Registration Requirements


  • Must be a female, fully accepted at Texas Tech University as a full-time student for Fall 2017. 

If your High School or College GPA falls below a 2.75 you may have significantly fewer opportunities than participants with higher GPAs. Potential new members who do not meet the minimum academic requirements of a specific chapter are typically released early in the recruitment process.

Students who are provisionally accepted or participating in the Gateway/TTAP programs must be fully admitted prior to registering for sorority recruitment. In order to be accepted before the August 1st registration deadline you will need to complete your summer course work during Summer I. Fraternity & Sorority Life and Texas Tech Admissions can not rush the admissions process during the month of August to accommodate your participation in sorority recruitment. 

Deadlines & Fees 

Registration will open online Friday, March 31st, 2017 at 10:00am. Registration closes Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 11:59pm. The link to register will be provided on the Recruitment homepage. 

Exceptions to the August 1st deadline may be requested in writing and submitted to Please include a description of the extenuating circumstances. 

The registration fees associated with Sorority Recruitment cover transportation, all communication & marketing materials provided to the participant, Fraternity & Sorority Life 101 programming and three catered meals. All registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Early Registration (March 31 - May 31) - $110.00

Regular Registration (June 1 - June 30) - $145.00

Last Chance Registration (July 1 - August 1) - $165.00

Appeal Registration (Beyond August 1) - $200.00

Academic Information

With academics serving as one of the founding values of our community it is important that chapters consider your academic performance. 

In previous years we have collected transcripts to verify academic performance. Instead, this year as a part of your recruitment registration we ask that you provide permission to Panhellenic to access the academic information provided to Texas Tech at the time of application. That information will be shared with the recruitment leadership teams from each of the Panhellenic chapters at Texas Tech. You will not be mailing any hard copy transcripts to Texas Tech Panhellenic or our chapters. 

Upon receiving your registration we will confirm your academic record with the admission documents provided at the time of application to the university to ensure that all academic measures are reported accurately. There is no need to send us any additional or hard copy information unless requested. 

Students entering with less than a 2.75 please review our Statement on Academic Standing.

Should you complete additional course work that you would like considered as part of your academic record, you may forward a digital/scanned copied to Hard copies will not be accepted. For many high schools and colleges you are able to request a transcript online. If not, please contact the school councilor or registrar directly for details.

This process is not necessary if application for admission recorded your HS or College GPA at or above a 3.40 or did not change more than 0.25 from one term to the next. This processes is recommended for those who achieved between a 2.75-3.00 and saw an improvement of 0.25 and above. 

Consideration of additional course work will not be processed beyond August 1st. 

Completing Your Profile 

Please have the following available prior to beginning the registration process:

  • Your Texas Tech Student ID (R#)
  • Your credit/debit card - we do not accepted checks
  • Your updated resume/list of activities you have participated in
  • A digital .jpeg or .gif picture with a maximum size of 4Mb


According to the Panhellenic Recruitment Rules, participant classification is determined by the year in which they graduated high school. If you would like to make a request to be considered otherwise for a special situation, please email

  • Freshman = Graduated high school in May/June 2017
  • Sophomore = Graduated high school May/June 2016
  • Junior = Graduated high school May/June 2015
  • Senior = Graduated high school BEFORE May/June 2014

Please see the information provided about legacies for clarification on how legacies are defined. The information provided in the legacy section of registration will only be used to notify the chapters of connections you have to sorority life. Legacy information provided will not effect your experience in a negative way. You will not be asked to discuss your legacy at any point. See the above video for more information. 

This is where information from your resume should be included. Any school, extracurricular, community service activities, etc. Provide only the details requested. Do not repeat information in multiple sections. 

  • Please DON'T use complete sentences 
  • Type out all acronyms
  • Descriptions are not necessary for self explanatory activities

The picture provided should be of good quality, not blurry, and only have the individual who is registering for recruitment in the shot, no one else.

Missing Information
Should we request academic or involvement information that is not applicable please provide a "N/A" or 0 as a response. We understand that not all institutions operate or utilize a class rank or compatible GPA scale. If you have specific questions about a field email
